Why it exists
Most AI answer checkers will tell you your answer is “good but could be more analytical” and hand you a generic model answer. That does not help you on the next question. What helps is seeing your own answer next to a model answer built from real topper answers to the same question, and being told exactly what yours is missing.
That is what writeupsc does. It reads photos of your handwritten answer, finds the closest questions in a bank of real topper answers, and names the gap: the dimension you missed, the example that would have earned the mark, the conclusion that needed a forward-looking line. It leaves your structure, your words and your argument alone.
Who makes it
writeupsc is built and run by Gaurav Singh and Aditya Tiwari, working independently. It is not backed by a coaching institute, and no institute’s material is sold through it. Its address is IIIT Naya Raipur, Sector 24, Uparwara, Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. Questions, corrections and requests go through the contact page.
The topper reference bank
Topper answer sheets published after results provide the standard for scoring answers. As of 20 September 2026 the writeupsc bank holds 5,901 answers by 129 toppers from 2018 to 2025: GS Paper 1 675, GS Paper 2 879, GS Paper 3 890, GS Paper 4 (Ethics) 1,288, Essay 84, Optional subjects 2,085.
When you upload an answer, real topper answers to similar questions are shown beside yours, so you can see exactly what scoring answers contained. The overall numbers from the bank are published in the guides.
Three rules
- No generic rewrites. The model answer beside yours is built from real topper answers to the same question, in the style real toppers write. Your own answer is never rewritten; the feedback names each difference and the reason it costs marks, so the fix works on the next question too.
- No invented feedback. Every comparison is grounded in a retrieved reference. If the references cannot be loaded, there is no score at all, rather than a confident one with nothing behind it.
- Your voice stays yours. Structure, phrasing and argument are left alone. The tool marks what is missing, never what to replace.
How it works
Photograph your handwritten answer sheet and upload the pages. writeupsc reads your handwriting, identifies the question and key points, compares your response with real topper answers to similar questions, and highlights what is missing along with actionable changes. The whole evaluation takes about a minute. Details of data privacy and retention are in the privacy policy.
What it is not
writeupsc is a practice tool. Its score is an estimate to guide your revision. It is not a prediction of the marks an examiner will give. We publish no accuracy figure, because UPSC does not publish marked copies, so there is nothing to measure against. It has no connection with the Union Public Service Commission, with any topper named in the bank, or with the institutes that published the booklets.
