Terms of use

Short, because there is not much to hide.

By using writeupsc you agree to these terms. Updated 1 October 2026.

The service

writeupsc evaluates photographs of handwritten UPSC Mains answers by comparing them with a bank of real topper answers, and shows the differences. It is operated by Aditya Tiwari (“we”), with Gaurav Singh, from Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. Contact details are on the contact page. It is a practice aid, not coaching, not an official evaluation, and not affiliated with the Union Public Service Commission.

Your account

You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for what is uploaded under it. Each account receives a set number of free evaluations; the number shown in the app at the time is the number that applies. We may change the allowance, or refuse service to an account that abuses it.

Paid evaluations

Beyond the free allowance, evaluations are sold at the prices on the pricing page, in Indian rupees: a trial of 5 evaluations (once per account) and a 30-day answer writing pass. Each is a one-time payment with no subscription or renewal. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never receive your card or bank details. Evaluations bought are added to the account you were signed in with when you paid and are delivered online (see the delivery policy). Trial and pack evaluations do not expire; the pass's evaluations are to be used within 30 days of buying it, are used before any others, and lapse when it ends. Early bird prices apply to purchases made by the date shown on the pricing page. Refunds follow the cancellation and refund policy. A price change never affects anything already bought.

What you upload

Upload only answers you wrote yourself, or have the right to upload. You keep ownership of your answers. You grant writeupsc permission to store and process them for the purpose of producing and showing you the evaluation, and, if you choose to share an evaluation, to display it at the link you share. Do not upload material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that is not an answer to a Mains-style question.

What the score means

The score and feedback are produced by AI models comparing your answer with retrieved references. They are estimates meant to guide your practice. They are not a prediction of marks and not a promise of any result in the exam. They can be wrong: handwriting may occasionally be misread, and a retrieved reference may not be a perfect match. Where no reference can be retrieved, no score is given. Use your own judgement and your mentors’.

The reference bank

The topper answers used for comparison come from answer booklets that toppers and coaching institutes published openly after the results. On a result page, the matched answers are shown as written, with the topper’s name and rank as printed on the booklet, so you can study them beside your own. Your own feedback and model answer are generated for your question; they are not a copy of any single topper’s answer.

Acceptable use

Do not try to open other users’ evaluations, overload the service, copy the reference bank, or reverse-engineer the service. Do not use scripts or bots to call the API beyond normal use of the site.

Limits of responsibility

The service is provided as is. As far as the law allows, writeupsc is not responsible for any loss that comes from using or relying on an evaluation, or from the service being down. Nothing here limits any responsibility that Indian law says cannot be limited.

Changes and law

These terms may change; the date above changes when they do. Continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions go to the contact page.
