What the bot does

@WriteUPSCbot is the official Telegram bot of writeupsc. You photograph a handwritten UPSC Mains answer, send it in the chat, and about a minute later the bot replies with realistic marks, what toppers did differently on a question like yours, and what to fix next. It runs the same evaluation as the website: your answer is compared with the closest of 5,901 real topper answers, and never rewritten.

Open @WriteUPSCbot

How it works

  1. Open the bot. Open @WriteUPSCbot in Telegram and tap Start. No sign-up form: your Telegram account is your account.
  2. Send the pages. Send photos of one answer, every page in order: up to 4 pages for a GS answer, 10 for an essay. Sending them as File keeps them sharp.
  3. Tap Done and pick the paper. Choose the paper and the marks. If the question is written on your first page, tap that; if not, type it in. Then tap Evaluate.
  4. Get the result. In about a minute: realistic marks, what toppers did differently on a question like yours, and a revision checklist, with a link to the full evaluation.

What comes back

  • Realistic marks for the question’s marks, with the range they are likely to fall in, and what toppers usually score on a question like it.
  • What toppers did differently: the dimensions, examples and conclusion that the closest topper answers had and yours did not.
  • A revision checklist of the changes worth making in your next answer.
  • A link to the full evaluation on writeupsc.app: every criterion, the topper answers compared, and a model answer. The link opens without your photos, so forwarding it never shows your answer sheet.

No answer written yet? Take today’s question

Tap Give me today’s question (or send /today) for the question of the day, the same one the practice bank shows: a real Mains past question with its marks, word limit and a time to write it in. Write it on paper, then send the photo. If you start the bot and send nothing, it sends one reminder the next morning with that day’s question, and never another.

What it costs

Your first evaluation is free. The bot uses the same allowance as a writeupsc.app account: after the free one, buy a 5-evaluation trial or the 30-day answer writing pass on the website (pricing), and /link connects your Google account so both share it. Nothing is sold inside Telegram. A failed evaluation is never counted.

Your answers stay private

The bot keeps your answer pages and the evaluation, so it can show them to you, and your Telegram id, first name and username, to know it is you. Nobody else can open your answers unless you share them from the website. /deletemydata deletes your answers. Full policy: privacy.

Bot or Telegram channel?

UPSC Telegram channels post questions, notes and synopses; checking your answer is up to you or a paid evaluator. The bot does the checking, one answer at a time, in the chat. For a question every morning and the topper approach every evening, join the writeupsc Telegram group as well; it is free.
