Privacy policy

What we keep, and why.

Written in plain words by the two people who build it. Updated 1 October 2026.

Who is responsible

writeupsc (www.writeupsc.app) is operated by Aditya Tiwari, with Gaurav Singh, from Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. For anything about your data, use the contact page.

What is collected

When you sign in with Google

Google sends us your name, email address and a Google account identifier. We store these to create your account and to attach your evaluations to it. We do not receive your Google password and we request no other Google data.

When you upload an answer

The photographs you upload, the transcribed text, the question identified, the relevant topper references, and the evaluation produced. Each evaluation is stored under your account so you can return to it from your dashboard.

Automatically

Two cookies: a signed session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a signed anonymous identifier set before sign-in that links a browser to its own uploads. Both are set by this site only, cannot be read by page scripts, and are used for nothing else. The IP address of the request is stored with the upload, to stop abuse. No advertising or analytics scripts run on the site.

When you pay

Payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive the order and payment identifiers, the amount, whether it succeeded and the kind of method used (for example UPI or card), and keep them with your account for our accounts and for refunds. Card numbers, UPI PINs and bank credentials go to Razorpay only; we never receive them. Razorpay’s own privacy policy applies to what you give it.

When you write to us

The name, email and message you send through the contact form.

How it is used

  • To run the evaluation you asked for and show it back to you.
  • To enforce the free-evaluation allowance on your account.
  • To answer your messages.
  • To find and fix errors in the service. When a reading of handwriting goes wrong, the builder may look at the upload to understand why.

Your uploads are not used to train any model, are not sold, and are not shown to other users unless you share them (see below).

Third-party service providers

Running an evaluation processes your data using secure cloud and AI service providers under their commercial terms:

  • AI service providers receive uploaded images and text solely to transcribe handwriting and generate your evaluation feedback. These providers do not use customer data submitted through their paid APIs to train their models.
  • Razorpay processes payments when you purchase evaluations.

Application data is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. Data is processed strictly to deliver the evaluation service.

Sharing an evaluation

Evaluations are private by default. If you choose to share one, its link becomes readable by anyone who has it. Sharing the evaluation does not share your photographs unless you separately choose to include them. You can un-share at any time from the evaluation page.

How long it is kept

Your account, evaluations and uploads are kept until you ask for them to be deleted. Temporary copies of uploads made during processing are discarded when the run finishes. Contact messages are kept until answered and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Your choices

  • Delete everything. Send a request from the Google email you signed in with, through the contact page. Your account, every evaluation and every photograph under it are removed. Copies sent to third-party service providers are subject to their standard retention policies (typically 30 days or less for abuse monitoring).
  • See what we hold. Your dashboard lists every evaluation. Ask for anything else.
  • Sign out. Clears the session cookie on that browser.

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you the right to see, correct and erase your data. The steps above are how you use those rights here.

Age

The service is for people preparing for the Civil Services Examination, who are adults. It is not directed at children under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the change is described here. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
