What AI can judge well
- Whether you answered the directive and every part of the question. This is a reading task, and models read carefully.
- Structure. Headings, points per part, an introduction that defines, a conclusion that looks forward.
- Coverage against a reference. Which angles a topper's answer to the same question has and yours does not.
- Examples present or missing. Whether a claim has a name, a number or a report behind it.
- Length and pages, read from the photographs.
What it cannot judge
- How a particular examiner will read a particular answer on a particular afternoon.
- Facts it has no reference for. A tool that "knows" the answer is guessing. The honest behaviour is to say so and not score.
- Your handwriting as a human sees it. It can read it; it cannot feel the strain of reading it.
When it is worth it
When you write daily and nobody checks. A test series returns a copy in one to two weeks with margin notes on one answer in ten. A tool that grounds feedback in topper answers returns a read in a minute on every answer, so the gap list gets shorter week by week. It is not a replacement for a mentor's judgement on an essay or an ethics case study; it is the check you do every day between mentor sessions.
What to avoid
| If the tool… | Then… |
|---|---|
| Rewrites your answer | You memorise its voice, not yours. The fix does not transfer to the next question. |
| Gives one score and generic tips | "Add more examples" is not feedback. Ask which example, where. |
| Scores every answer, always | It has no reference to check against. Confidence without evidence. |
| Accepts typed text only | Mains is handwritten. Typing your answer changes what you are practising. |
| Cannot show its references | You cannot check it, so you cannot learn from it. |
writeupsc reads the photograph, compares with 5,901 real topper answers, names the changes with where and what to write, links every reference to the booklet page, and refuses to score without references. How the tools compare.
A routine that works
- Write two answers a day, timed, by hand.
- Photograph and check them the same day, while the reasoning is fresh.
- Keep one page of gaps: the change, the question, the date. Most gaps repeat.
- Take the week's repeated gap to your mentor or your study group.
Questions
Can AI replace a test series?
For daily checking, yes: it is faster and covers every answer. For a simulated exam with a human reader, no. Use the test series for the exam rehearsal and the tool for the daily loop.
Is the score accurate?
It is an estimate for practice. writeupsc reports a range in marks and shows the criteria behind it, so you can see why. No tool, and no test series, can promise the examiner's number.
Does writeupsc keep my answers private?
Yes. An evaluation is private to your account unless you share it. Photographs are never shared unless you choose to include them.
